(Two and Three Coefficient) Model for the Refractive
Indices of 7O.1 LC Compound at Different Wavelengths

Abstract: The refractive indices of
N- (p-n-heptyloxy benzylidene)–p-n-methyl aniline (7O.1)
LC substance was measured with the aid of a modified
spectrometer at three different wavelengths. The
wavelength-dependent refractive indices were fitted
using three and two coefficient Cauchy design. For high
birefringence liquid crystals three coefficient Cauchy
model is favorable than two coefficient model and vice
versa. The results obtained are compared and discussed.
