Abstract: Many plywood factories were
built in Indonesia. Plywood Ash is waste material from
plywood factory. Wasting plywood ash cause contamination
to the environment. The aim of this research to
establish the potential of the using plywood ash as
material addition in concrete mixture. Plywood Ash was
sieved through laboratory sieve number 100 in order to
remove any organic impurity and larger size particles.
Variation of plywood ash addition used 0%, 10%, 20 %, 30
% and 40 % from weight of Portland Cement. The specimen
was formed of the cylinder 15 cm in diameter size and 30
cm in height for testing of the compressive strength and
split tensile strength test. The specimens test
conducted with a curing in water until 28 days. The
result of this research known that plywood ash can be
used as material addition in concrete mixture. For
addition of Plywood ash 10 % of cement, it obtains the
maximum compressive strength and split tensile strength
of concrete. Using plywood ash more than 20 % will
decrease compressive strength and split tensile strength
lower than control concrete. The research of the using
waste material must be continued to prevents
environmental pollution.
