The first World Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (WCSET 2012) was organized by the Basha Research Corporation at Haailand Resort & Theme Park, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India during 17-19 August 2012. The conference received 200 papers out of which 113 were accepted for the oral presentations divided into five parallel sessions. There were total 108 participants, representing 9 countries that contributed to the success of the conference.

Prof. D. Venkat Reddy, President, Cafet-Innova Technical Society and Professor, National Institute of Technology (NIT-Karnataka) was the Conference Chairman. Dr. R. Suresh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Campus2Corporate (P) Ltd. and Mr. Hafeez Basha, Vice President - Technology, BRCORP were the Organizing Secretaries.

Prof. Jammi Srinivasa Rao, Professor Retd., IIT-Delhi and President & CEO of BRCORP was the Chief Guest. Prof. Shovan K. Saha, Director, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA-Vijayawada) Ministry of Human Resource Development Institute and Prof. Ch. Sanjay, Campus Director, GITAM University Hyderabad were the Guests-of-Honour for the inaugural function. Prof. Goungara Lal Datta, Retd. Dean, IIT-Kharagpur and Chancellor, Koneru Lakshmaiah University was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Function.

Dr. Subhasis Sen, Emeritus Scientist, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR);     Dr. Ch. Hanumantha Rao, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Koneru Lakshmaiah University; Mr. Sandi Kumar Reddy, Scientist, National Institute of Rock Mechanics, Ministry of Mines; Mr. Mohammad Abubakr, Microsoft R&D; Mr. T. Prakash Raju, IBM India Ltd; and Mr. Saikiran Chavali, Oracle Software Ltd. were the keynote speakers during the parallel sessions.
