Kumamoto University Japan hosts 4th WCSET-2015

The Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST) of Kumamoto University, Japan hosted the 4th World Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology of the Basha Research Corporation (BRCORP) during 24-26 October 2015. The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Hiromitsu Yagi, Secretary General of Kumamoto International Foundation (KIF) Kumamoto City Government. The conference proceedings with ISBN was released by Prof. Kazuki Takashima, Vice-President of Kumamoto University. Prof. Jun Otani, Dean of GSST gave the welcome note and Dr. ASN Chakravarthy, Chief Technology Officer of BRCORP gave the inaugural address in presence of Conference Chair Prof. Shuichi Torii, Assistant Director, Kumamoto University and Co-Chair Prof. Katta Venkataramana, Dean-Academics, National Institute of Technology (NIT-Karnataka).

Prof. Mitsuyo Kishida, Director for International Joint-Education Program (IJEP) introduced the GSST and courses offered at Kumamoto University in English. She also mentioned the status of Kumamoto University as Top Global University according to the Ministry of Education, Japan
Mr. Hiromitsu Yagi introduced the Kumamoto International Foundation which supports the foreign nationals residing at Kumamoto City with its international cooperation activities.
Mr. Richard Meribe, Student President of Kumamoto University International Students' Association (KUMISA) introduced the activities of foreign students inside Kumamoto University.

Some of the notable speakers at WCSET-2015 were: Prof. Mitsuru Kikuchi, Advisor for Fusion Research and Development, Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Prof. Wybe Kuitert, Seoul National University, South Korea, Prof. Cheng-Hsin Chuang, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, Prof. Hideaki Ohgaki, Kyoto University, Japan, Prof. Amde M. Amde, University of Maryland, USA, Prof. Kyuro Sasaki, Kyushu University, Japan, Prof. Tae Seong Kim, Kyung Hee University, South Korea and Dr. Shiva Das Sivasubramaniam, Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom.

Special Session on Nuclear Fusion for Power Generation was organized during the conference which included lectures by Prof. Hiroshi Yamada, Science Advisor to Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Japan, Dr. Aparajita Mukherji from ITER-India, Dr. Junichi Miyazawa and Dr. Daiji Kato from National Institute for Fusion Science, and Mr. Kishore Mishra from Kyushu University, Japan. There were total 137 scientific participants representing 13 countries, where 120 papers were accepted for oral presentations out of 156 submissions. Total 104 papers were considered for publication in conference proceedings and later in International Journals after further peer-review process. This conference will be hosted by Vietnam National University (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology) in 2016.
