The B. V. Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT-Hyderabad) College of Engineering for Women, one of the premier institution of Sri Vishnu Educational Society celebrated the 86th birthday of former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. On this occasion the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a memorial lecture on Renewable Energy by Dr. R. Hafeez Basha, Chief Technology Officer, BRCORP. He was welcomed by Dr. K. V. N. Sunitha, Principal and felicitated by Dr. Ch. Sunil Kumar, Head of the Department.

In his lecture Dr. Hafeez Basha presented the role of information technology in renewable energy especially the waste-to-electricity generation plants to increase the working efficiency and reduce the management cost involved in logistics. The active participation of students with lot of queries made this session more interactive. He also encouraged them to take-up entrepreneurship along side higher education and employment.
